1. Description of Service

Recipes to Grocery List is a mobile application that allows you to:

• Photograph recipes and extract structured recipe data using artificial intelligence.
• Create and manage recipes manually.
• Generate multi-day meal plans with automated grocery lists.
• Purchase scan credits for AI-powered features.

The App is available on Android, iOS, macOS, and Windows.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years of age to use the App. If you are under 18, you represent that your parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf.

3. Account & Device Identity

The App does not require a traditional user account. Your identity is based on your device installation. A unique install token is generated when you first use the App. If you uninstall and reinstall the App, you may lose your install identity and any associated free scan credits.

4. License to Use the App

We grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable license to download and use the App on devices you own or control, for your personal, non-commercial use, subject to these Terms. This license does not include the right to modify, distribute, sell, or create derivative works from the App or any part of its content, code, AI prompts, or documentation.

5. AI-Powered Features

5.1 Recipe Extraction

The App uses third-party AI services (such as Anthropic Claude, OpenAI, and Google Gemini) to extract recipe data from photographs. You acknowledge that:

• AI-generated results may be inaccurate, incomplete, or require manual correction.
• AI models are non-deterministic by nature. The same photograph may produce different extraction results each time, and results may vary between AI providers.
• Extractions may fail unexpectedly due to factors including but not limited to image quality, AI provider outages, network issues, or the complexity of the recipe content. We do not guarantee that any given extraction attempt will succeed.
• We do not guarantee the accuracy of extracted recipes, ingredients, quantities, or cooking instructions.
• You are responsible for verifying all recipe data before use, especially regarding food allergies, dietary restrictions, and food safety.
• The App does not provide medical, nutritional, dietary, or allergy advice. Generated grocery lists may be incomplete or contain errors. Always verify ingredients and quantities before shopping or cooking.

5.2 Scan Credits

Each new installation receives a limited number of free scan credits. Additional credits can be purchased through the App. Scan credits:

• Are non-transferable and tied to your device installation.
• Do not expire, but may be lost if you uninstall and reinstall the App.
• Are consumed per extraction attempt. If an extraction fails due to a server-side error, the credit may be refunded automatically at our discretion.

6. In-App Purchases

6.1 Purchases

The App offers consumable Scan Credit Packs— one-time purchases that add AI recipe extraction credits to your device installation. All purchases are processed through the platform's app store (Google Play Store or Apple App Store) and are subject to that store's terms and refund policies.

6.2 Pricing & Payment

Prices are displayed in your local currency within the App. Payment is charged to your app store account at the time of purchase.

6.3 Refunds

• Refund requests must be directed to the respective app store (Google Play or Apple App Store) in accordance with their refund policies.
• Scan credit purchases are non-refundable once used.

7. User Content

7.1 Your Data

Recipes, meal plans, grocery lists, and photos you create are stored locally on your device. We do not have access to your locally stored content.

7.2 Images Sent for Processing

When you use the AI recipe extraction feature, the photographs you submit are transmitted to our backend server and forwarded to a third-party AI provider for processing. These images are used solely for the purpose of extracting recipe data and are not stored permanently on our servers.

7.3 Upload Rights and Responsibilities

You represent and warrant that you have the necessary rights or permissions to upload any content (including photographs of recipes from cookbooks, magazines, websites, or other sources) and to use it in the manner facilitated by the App. You are solely responsible for ensuring that your uploads and use of extracted content comply with applicable intellectual property and copyright laws.

7.4 Feedback

If you submit feedback or bug reports through the App, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use that feedback to improve the App.

8. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

• Use the App for any unlawful purpose.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or tamper with the App or its backend services.
• Circumvent device attestation, rate limiting, or any security measures.
• Submit fraudulent purchase receipts or manipulate the credit system.
• Use automated tools, bots, or scripts to interact with the App or its API.
• Interfere with or disrupt the App's infrastructure or other users' experience.

9. Intellectual Property

The App, including its design, code, AI prompts, and documentation, is owned by us and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our trademarks, logos, or branding.

Recipes you create or extract belong to you. We claim no ownership over your user-generated content.

10. Third-Party Services

The App relies on third-party services including but not limited to:

• AI Providers — Anthropic, OpenAI, Google (for recipe extraction)
• App Stores — Google Play Store, Apple App Store (for distribution and payments)

Your use of these third-party services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or conduct of third-party services.

11. Copyright Complaints

We respect the intellectual property rights of others. If you believe that content available through the App infringes your copyright, please send a written notice to support@recipestogrocerylist.com containing:

• A description of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed.
• A description of the material you claim is infringing and its location.
• Your contact information (name, address, email, phone number).
• A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
• A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on their behalf.
• Your physical or electronic signature.

We will respond to valid notices in accordance with applicable law.

12. Service Availability and Changes

We reserve the right to:

• Modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature of the App at any time, with or without notice.
• Change AI providers used for recipe extraction.
• Limit or restrict access to certain features or regions.
• Perform scheduled or unscheduled maintenance.

We will make reasonable efforts to notify users of material changes but do not guarantee uninterrupted access to the App.

13. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that:

• The App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.
• AI-extracted recipe data will be accurate or complete.
• The App will meet your specific requirements.

14. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or personal injury, arising out of or in connection with your use of the App.

Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

15. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your violation of these Terms or your misuse of the App.

16. Modifications to the Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the App or by updating the effective date at the top of this document. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

17. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time, without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users or our services.

Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases immediately. Locally stored data remains on your device.

18. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Quebec, Canada, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in the Province of Quebec, Canada.
