Recipes to Grocery List is a meal planning and recipe management app for Android, iOS, macOS, and Windows. We designed the app to work without user accounts. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your choices.
Information We Collect
1)Device & App Information
We collect limited information about your installation, such as:
- A device/app identifier (used to recognize your app installation)
- Your platform (Android, iOS, macOS, Windows)
Why: To provide core functionality that depends on your installation (like credits/subscription verification) and help prevent abuse.
2)Purchases & Credits
If you buy a subscription or credits, we process and store:
- Purchase verification data (to validate transactions)
- Credit balance and transactions (credits purchased, used, or promotional credits)
Why: To deliver purchases, maintain your credit balance, and support refunds/verification.
3)Basic Usage & Error Logs
We may collect minimal operational logs, such as:
- Timestamps of feature use (e.g., AI extraction requests)
- Success/failure status and error messages (if something fails)
Why: To troubleshoot problems, maintain reliability, and prevent fraud/abuse.
4)Recipe Images for AI Extraction (Not Stored)
If you use AI recipe extraction:
- The image you upload is sent for processing to extract recipe information.
- Images are not stored on our servers. They are processed and then discarded.
- Processing may involve third-party AI services (see "Third Parties").
Important: If you don't use AI extraction, your recipe images are not sent for this purpose.
Data Stored on Your Device
Your recipe library, meal plans, grocery lists, and preferences are stored locally on your device and are not required to be uploaded to use the app.
How We Use Information
We use collected information to:
- Provide app features (including AI extraction and credit management)
- Verify purchases and subscriptions
- Prevent fraud/abuse and keep the service reliable
- Provide customer support and fix issues
Third Parties
We share limited data with service providers only as needed to run the app:
- AI processing provider: receives recipe images only when you use AI extraction (for processing)
- App stores (Apple / Google): purchase verification data
- Cloud hosting/monitoring providers: data needed to operate the service and diagnose errors
We do not sell your data or share it for advertising or targeted marketing.
Data Retention
- Purchase and credit records: kept as needed for verification and support
- Operational logs: kept for a limited period as needed for reliability and troubleshooting
- Recipe images used for AI extraction: not retained (processed and discarded)

- You can remove local app data by uninstalling the app.
- You can request deletion of server-side data associated with your app installation by contacting us (see below).
